Around the B&B

B&B Nieuwhof is situated in a valuable agricultural area, making peace and tranquillity prevail. It’s an ideal location for cyclists and walkers. The ‘Wijndaeleroute’ and the ‘Godelieve route’ cross our B&B.

Zevekote, where we are situated, is a suburb of the city Gistel. The Godelieve procession takes place annually (Saint Godelieve is a local saint). Also visit the Godelieve abbey and the East mill!

The picturesque village Zande with its cosy restaurants as Geraardsbloempje and Cruysande is also nearby. Further on, you’ll find Koekelaere where there are also nice curiosities: the former brewery Christiaen with the Käthe Kollwitz-tower, the Govaeremill and the ‘Lange Max’.

Some twenty kilometres away from our B&B there is the polder city Diksmuide where you can visit the IJzertoren (Yser Tower). At the Dodengang (“Path of the Dead”, a set of conserved trenches) you can ‘feel’ World War One). At Pentecost, you can enjoy wandering at the cheese market.

At about 15 kilometres the cosy city Veurne is located. In Veurne you also have some nice attractions, such as the bakery museum and the annual Procession of the Penitants.

Closer to our B&B you’ll find the coastal cities Nieuwpoort, where the Albert-monument is located and where you can discover the beautiful promenade and the fishing port, and Middelkerke with its Dronkenput (‘Drunk Pit’), its nice public park and its classy Casino. Also ‘Queen of the Seaside Resorts’ Ostend is only 10 kilometres away from the B&B.

And last but not least there’s the historical and beautiful city Bruges. It takes you about 20 minutes to get there by car. If you want to make some trips, you can always ask us or the tourist information point in the city.
